How to Create a Positive Offboarding Experience

January 10, 2023 | 12 – 1 pm | $15

Parting ways with an employee is never easy, whether a great employee is leaving or the company is deciding to let someone go. Often when an employee announces that they are leaving, we naturally focus on the goodbye instead of all the contributions the employee has made. Conversations seem awkward when it’s the company’s decision, and we worry about liability for wrongful discharge. By keeping employee offboarding positive, you will reduce risk, possibly gain a brand ambassador, and increase the odds of having an employee that may return later.

Objectives for this session:

  • Explore offboarding, what it means and why it matters.
  • Discuss offboarding best practices, including how to have those tough conversations
  • Learn strategies to create a positive offboarding experience.

This session is accredited for one SHRM recertification credit hour.

Attendees will receive a link to the recording of the webinar, a PDF of the presentation slides, and a free offboarding checklist.
