43 percent of applicants to McMurry University were admitted for fall 2017


At McMurry University, 81 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 52 percent are male, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Abilene enrolled 1,108 students in fall 2017, including 1,105 in undergraduate and 3 in graduate programs, data shows. 11.5 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

89 percent of undergraduates are residents of Texas, and 4 percent are residents of other states. 7 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (47 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (25 percent).

The school admitted 43 percent of the 1,843 students who applied for fall 2017. Of those who were admitted, 31 percent enrolled.
