About 37.6 percent of the 974 degrees and certificates handed out by the University of St Thomas in 2016-17 were to students in Education programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Houston conferred 366 master's degrees in Education programs.

But the single most popular program was for a master's degree in Counselor Education/School Counseling and Guidance Services. Data shows the school gave out 125 master's degrees in Counselor Education/School Counseling and Guidance Services, followed by 99 master's degrees in Business Administration and Management, General and 85 master's degrees in Educational Leadership and Administration, General.

The university enrolled 3,247 students for 2016-17, including 1,768 in undergraduate programs and 1,479 in graduate programs.
