Graduates earn 2,084 degrees, certificates from Amarillo College


About 21 percent of the 2,084 degrees and certificates handed out by the Amarillo College in 2016-17 were to students in Health Professions and Related Programs programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Amarillo conferred 299 associate's degrees and 138 certificates in Health Professions and Related Programs programs.

But the single most popular program was for a associate's degree in General Studies. Data shows the school gave out 156 associate's degrees in General Studies, followed by 149 associate's degrees in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse and 144 associate's degrees in Business Administration and Management, General.

The college enrolled 10,195 students for 2016-17, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
