The Keep Tyler Beautiful Board will take part in the Clean Up The World Day initiative, a global awareness and cleanup effort, by hosting a park service day project next month at the Glass Recreation Center and Woldert Park.

The Sept. 16 event will take place at the park on West 32nd Street. Volunteers are needed to help pick up litter, repair broken benches, repaint lines on sports courts and refresh paint on pavilions and rest room facilities as well as spread new mulch on playgrounds.

“This Park Service day is a great way to give back to the city and show community pride,” Keep Tyler Beautiful Community Coordinator Angela Cardoza said in a press release.  “I hope many families come out to give our parks the love they need. Community service events like this are so much fun, everyone shares a strong city spirit while getting their hands dirty improving our community.”

Anyone interested in volunteering for the Keep Tyler Beautiful cleanup event can register online at keeptylerbeautiful.com and choose the park where they would like to work. Volunteers can also email Keep Tyler Beautiful’s community coordinator Angela Cardoza at acardoza@tylertexas.com

Volunteers are asked to gather at 8 a.m. in front of the Glass Recreation Center under the Keep Tyler Beautiful tent.
