Arlington residents have an opportunity to apply for the city’s Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program, which is a federally funded program that offers rental housing assistance to low income households, the elderly and disabled during an upcoming open enrollment period.
The Housing Authority of the City of Arlington (AHA) will accept applications for the HCV program during the open enrollment period, which runs through 9 a.m. on Aug. 29.
To apply for the program, applicants must fill out an online application at arlingtonhousing.us and must have an email account. Applicants who do not have access to a computer can use computers for free at any Arlington Public Library branch or at the Arlington Housing Authority office on West Sanford Street. Free email accounts may also be obtained through an email provider of the applicant’s choice.
All applications received during the HCV program’s last open enrollment period will expire and applicants must re-apply during the upcoming enrollment period.
The HCV program receives funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and gives low income persons, the elderly people with disabilities to reside in safe, affordable rental housing.
