Blackwood Gun Club partnered with the Back the Brave organization Aug. 19 to help raise funds for local first responders.
“The fine people at Blackwood have offered to assist in raising money by donating a portion of their daily sales to our cause,” Back the Brave founder Gregory Hopper said in a statement. “What better way to spend a Saturday afternoon than at Blackwood Gun Club raising money for those who protect us day in and day out.”
The event included a barbecue lunch, live music, sporting clays, target practice, skeet trap and five-stand. There were drawings every hour for chances to win sporting clay packages, range passes and other merchandise. Participants also entered a contest to win a choice of two firearms which include a Benelli Super Black Edge II-25th Anniversary Flyway 12-gauge semi-auto shotgun worth over $3,000 or a FDR-15 Forged Mod 1 Full Build rifle worth over $1,200.
In addition, children were able to climb around the fire trucks and visit with law enforcement officers. For more information visit http://www.blackwoodgunclub.com.
