The Northeast Hospital Foundation recently announced that Dr. Angel Munoz will be the honoree and Dr. Stephanie Parke will be the guest speaker at its In The Pink of Health 10th Anniversary luncheon.
Munoz, a Lake Houston resident, established Lake Houston’s first neonatal intensive care unit in 1994 at Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital in Humble and is also the founder of WeeKare pediatric clinics.
"For 25 years, Dr. Munoz has performed everyday miracles on the tiniest and most delicate newborns at Memorial Hermann Northeast,” foundation President Tim Baker said during the announcement. "This is an honor you truly deserve."
Parke, who will be this year’s luncheon speaker, practices at Parke & Rogers Dentistry in The Woodlands and is a cancer survivor.
"Dr. Parke got the shock of a lifetime when she was diagnosed with stage four ovarian cancer in 2013," Baker said during the Foundation’s announcement. "She will inspire us with the encouraging journey she took alongside her husband, Frank, and their three children."
The In The Pink Health Luncheon, which helps raise funds for Project Mammogram and other Northeast Hospital initiatives, will be held Oct. 20 at the George Bush Intercontinental Airport Marriott in Houston.
