The Fort Bend Chamber has launched a “Candidates Academy” to help community members who are considering running for political office.

The four-session academy will give citizens an opportunity to learn about the key components of a political campaign. Participants will attend sessions where they can learn about the process of running for elected office as well as hear from former politicians, community leaders and campaign executives.

The academy has no political affiliations and will provide a broad spectrum of resources for potential candidates.

Christopher Hill, managing partner of 180 Messaging, will facilitate sessions at the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce from 8-10 a.m. beginning Nov. 28. Additional dates are Dec. 12, Jan. 9 and Feb. 8, with the graduation ceremony to be held March 8.

The Academy registration is $149 for all sessions which includes breakfast. Registration cost for young professionals ages 21-40 is $89. For more information visit fortbendchamber.com or contact Juliette Nessmith at Juliette@forbendcc.org or at (281) 566-2161.
