The Plano Chamber of Commerce is accepting applications for its 23-seat board of directors from now through the middle of August and is encouraging chamber members to lend their leadership skills by serving on the board.
Board members serve three-year terms and are recommended by the chamber’s nominating committee and approved by the current board members.
According to the chamber’s 2018 board application, member’s roles include attending board meetings that are held on the third Wednesday of every month from 7:30-9 a.m., attending chamber events, and being involved with chamber programs.
Board members also help to ensure compliance with policies and procedures, including ethical and legal standards, according to the chamber. Board members also act as representatives for the Chamber throughout the community and work to help build professional networks and leadership skills.
