Chevron Phillips launches website featuring Gulf Coast project
Chevron Phillips Chemical Co. has created a website to feature updates and stories regarding its $6 billion backing of a Gulf Coast Petrochemicals project in the U.S.
Chevron recently launched the site called Emerging Possibilities at http://www.cpchem.com/en-us/USGC-Petrochemicals-Project/Pages/default.aspx to highlight the people and the products involved in the project, which will be completed in phases through the end of 2017.
“This website will provide a sneak peek into the process of bringing a mega project like this online, showcasing the incredible talent behind the project and how our products impact everyday living,” Chevron Phillips Chemical President and CEO Peter Cella said in the company’s announcement. “While this project is being built in Texas, the economic impact is felt across the country, specifically with our suppliers and vendors, on the rails and in the ports, as we plan for greater exports of polyethylene."
The company states that its building of an ethane cracker at its Cedar Bayou plant in Baytown has added 400 permanent jobs and created 10,000 engineering and construction jobs.
Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP, a wholly owned subsidiary of Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LLC, is a top producer of olefins and polyolefins and supplier of aromatics, alpha olefins, styrenics, specialty chemicals, plastic piping and polymer resins.
