Lubbock Chamber's president receives state award

Lubbock Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Eddie McBride has been honored with the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives’ (TCCE) Marvin Hurley Award for his chamber-related career accomplishments.

The Lubbock Chamber announced McBride received one of the TCCE’s highest honors during the recent TCCE annual conference in League City. The award is presented for an individual’s service to the community and for contributions to the Chamber.

McBride, who has served as the Lubbock Chamber president since 1999, has helped the Chamber to earn several awards and recognitions including The Chamber 5-Star accreditation recognition by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber of the Year Award in 2008 and 2012. Under McBride’s leadership, the Lubbock Chamber has also been named the Best Chamber in the Nation in the dues category by the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives.

In addition to his most recent honor, McBride was also the recipient of the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives’ Distinguished Service Award in 2011.

The award was established in honor of former Texas chamber professional Marvin Hurley, who served as the Houston Chamber CEO and was revered by his peers as one of the top chamber executives in the state and nation.
