Galdisa USA recently broke ground for its 46,500-square-foot peanut processing facility in Conroe that will serve the U.S. and Canadian markets.
The Greater Conroe/Lake Conroe Area Chamber of Commerce announced the groundbreaking of the plant, which is to be opened by March and employ 25 people.
In the Chamber’s announcement, Galdisa said the new facility will be state of the art with the latest in food processing equipment and a capacity to expand in the future.
“We would like to thank the Greater Conroe Economic Development Council, the City of Conroe and Montgomery County for their openness to receive new business and their help in the setup of this new venture; those factors along with an unmatched location, were decisive behind our pick for a new home, which we are sure will bring enormous success to the Galdisa family,” the company said in a statement.
Galdisa, founded in 1957, produces, manufactures and sells peanuts and peanut products for industrial, wholesale and retail markets in Mexico and the U.S. The company works in every aspect of the supply chain from agriculture to retail packaging and operates nine facilities throughout Mexico with a sales office located in the U.S.
