The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio and CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital-New Braunfels have recently partnered in an effort to expand specialized care for premature infants in the New Braunfels area.
The hospitals joined forces to increase the level of care for infants born early through specialized training for its neonatal intensive care unit RNs and also through staffing the units with neonatologists with MEDNAX.
“This partnership further solidifies our commitment to provide outstanding health care for families and babies in San Antonio New Braunfels and beyond,” The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio’s President Elias Neujahr said.
The combining of the medical teams has allowed specially trained neonatal intensive care nurses from The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio and RNs from CHRISTUS Santa Rosa to work together to provide specialized care for high risk infants.
“We are excited to partner with The Children’s Hospital which gives our team the opportunity to provide expert care to premature babies in New Braunfels and the surrounding areas,” CHRISTUS Santa Rosa-New Braunfels President Jim Wesson said. “Our goal is to keep fragile newborns closer to their parents and their parents closer to home and extended family.”
