Sixteen students from the Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) recently particiated in a “Shark Tank”-style event to present their business plans and compete for scholarships.
YEA! students in grades six through 12 who are representing a dozen businesses and social movements had their chance to sell their business ideas to some of the area’s most prominent business leaders at the annual Investor Panel Event.
Similar to the "Shark Tank" show, where participants present their plan in the hopes of getting seed money for their project or business idea, students had six minutes to wow the panel with their presentations. The student selected from the Investor Panel Event will go on to compete in YEA!’s Saunders Scholars competition against students from all over the U.S. to compete for college scholarships.
