Three Lake Houston couples will be honored for their community work at the upcoming Humble Area Assistance Ministries’ (HAAM) “Pillars of the Community” banquet.
Lake Houston residents Byron and Ginger Bertrand, Darryal and Connie Chandler, and Frank and Marlene Kopta are this year’s honorees for HAAM’s annual fundraiser and banquet that will take place March 31 at the Clubs of Kingwood.
HAAM, which first held its banquet in 2011, has helped nearly 15,000 individuals with services including distributing nutrition packs, assisting clients at its job center, and providing holiday meals and Christmas toys to families in need.
“We just couldn’t do what we do for our community without the generous support from our coalition of churches and organizations as well as the generosity of those in our community who support Pillars of the Community,” HAAM Executive Director Millie Garrison said.
A range of sponsorships are available for the Pillars of the Community banquet that start at $5,000 for a premier table of 10 and go to $100 sponsorship for an individual seat. For more information on sponsorships or donations, visit haamministries.org.
“This is the time of year when we ask our Lake Houston community to help us continue HAAM’s mission of help and hope,” banquet chair Devon Alexander said.
