State Rep. Dan Huberty (R-Humble) has been named to two key committee posts for the Texas House’s recent 85th Legislative Session.
Huberty, who is serving his fourth term as the District 127 Representative, will chair the House Public Education Committee. He was also appointed to the House Pensions Committee.
“Having served on this committee [Public Education] for the past three sessions, I feel I have garnered a keen understanding of the issues Texas faces in public education,” Huberty said. “We have affectively addressed many of these and I look forward to making further progress for Texas students. I am glad to be a voice for the education community."
The recent appointment to the Pensions Committee will be Huberty’s first time as a member of the group since his election into office.
“Although this will be my first session serving on this committee, I am looking forward to working with Chairman Dan Flynn and my fellow members to address these issues for all Texans,” Huberty said. “These assignments place me in the company of some great members and I am looking forward to working with them. I will work to do what is best for the state of Texas and House District 127.”
