The tricentennial celebration in San Antonio will take place next year, and the city wants to get citizens involved in the community and nonprofit projects.

The initiative Serve 300 SA from the Tricentennial Commission will connect San Antonio’s nonprofit organizations with the volunteers who wish to make San Antonio a better place to live and work. Nonprofits that want to work on any large or small building projects in 2018 can apply online to be selected based on the Tricentennial Guiding Principles.

After the projects are selected, the Commission will match projects with volunteers.

“Serve 300 SA is one of the four initiatives of the Tricentennial and an opportunity to further engage the entire community to participate in this historic milestone anniversary,” tricentennial CEO Edward Benavides said. “This initiative will provide nonprofits and other community-based organizations the opportunity to share with us proposed projects and call for volunteers, our residents, to make these projects a reality. With the collaboration of volunteers, donors and civic-minded residents, the impact of Serve 300 SA will be tremendous and observed throughout 2018.”
