Fundraiser draws awareness of heart health among young professionals

In honor American Heart Month, Baylor Heart and Vascular Hospital in Dallas sponsored the Feb. 2 “YP Happy Hour for National Wear Red Day,” an evening mixer and fundraiser for 100 young professionals in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

The event, organized by the Dallas Regional Chamber of Commerce, occurred at Eastwood’s Bar and Grill in Uptown, where Dr. Katelyn Brown from the sponsoring hospital held a fitness trivia contest and tested event-goers’ fitness.

The Nasher Art & Sculpture Center, the American Heart Association and the FC Dallas soccer team donated items to be raffled during the mixer, which is part of a series of 2017 planned events to foster networking for young professionals, the release said.
