Children's Hospital of San Antonio has named Rhonda Thompson as chief nursing officer.
"I have followed the growth and transformational development of CH of SA and I’m very excited to join the dynamic team that is leading the way in pediatric health care in the community," Thompson, who will join the ministry team Feb. 20, said. "The CHRISTUS mission to extend the healing ministry of Jesus Christ certainly puts our work in perspective."
Thompson has served in various clinical leadership roles for hospitals in the Houston market. She was able to improve patient satisfaction, reduce employee turnover, and improve budget efficiency.
"Rhonda will bring a dedicated pediatric and perinatal focus to The Children’s Hospital leadership team; we’re very excited to have her join us," Children's Hospital President Elias Neujahr said. "She is going to work very well with our associates, leaders and physicians – all of whom are strongly committed to our incredible transformation and continued growth."
Earning her doctor of nursing practice last year, Thompson is also a court-appointed child advocate and parent liaison for special needs children.
“The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio has an incredibly talented group of leaders, associates and physicians," CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System Chief Nursing Executive Patty Toney said. "Rhonda brings successful leadership experience and a commitment to involving front line staff in problem solving and innovation. She joins a team that is fully dedicated to the CHRISTUS mission – and to doing everything for the children and their families we are privileged to serve.”
