NerdWallet releases its top 10 cities for job seekers list, revealing Texas and North Carolina have growing opportunities for those seeking employment in 2017.
If a career move is part of your 2017 plans, Texas and North Carolina have something to offer.
A recent list released by NerdWallet identified the top 10 cities for job seekers, suggesting Texas and North Carolina have opportunities for bigger paychecks and the economy to make them stretch a little further.
Researchers looked at America’s 100 largest cities, factoring unemployment rates, workforce growth, median earnings and rent costs. The study found two cities in both Texas and North Carolina ideal for those searching for a job or wanting to make a change in their employment.
The No. 1 city for job seekers in America is Austin. The remaining top nine cities, according to NerdWallet, are: Denver; Nashville, Tennessee; Seattle; Durham, North Carolina; Atlanta; Minneapolis; Lincoln, Nebraska; Irving; and Raleigh, North Carolina.
Half of the top 10 cities are the capitals of their respective states, creating hubs for government jobs. Nine of the top 10 host a large population of millennials, according to 2015 U.S. Census data, and many of the cities host a variety of jobs in the technology and health care industries.
