Positive news comes from the city of Irving in regards to the economy and those seeking employment. According to the Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce, Irving’s unemployment rate decreased to 3.2 percent from 3.4 percent in October.
The city boasts a stronger employment environment than both the nation and state of Texas, which report unemployment rates of 4.6 percent each.
Irving’s unemployment rate is not only lower month over month, but the city’s unemployment rate in November 2015 was 3.6 percent, a decrease of 11 percent in the unemployment rate year-over-year.
For the Fiscal Year 2016, the Irving Economic Development Partnership reports the city of Irving added or retained more than 8,000 jobs through successful partnerships with 20 different businesses.
