Fluor Corp., a global cost-effective construction specialist based in Irving, has earned a place in the first-ever Forbes JUST 100 list, a compilation of companies ranked by performance according to feedback from 50,000 American respondents.
The inaugural list was assembled following a particularly large survey conducted over the last year and a half. Forbes worked in tandem with National Opinion Research Center, a University of Chicago independent research group; and JUST Capital, an independent nonprofit.
Named for the concept of “just” business behavior, JUST Capital is widely regarded as an accurate source of ranking data regarding large publicly traded corporations such as Fluor.
“We are honored to make the Forbes inaugural JUST 100 list of top companies,” Fluor Chairman and CEO David Seaton said. “The recognition reaffirms the values that have contributed to Fluor’s 100-plus year global legacy and why we are recognized as an employer of choice in our industry.”
The ranking system focused on six topics including fair pay, non-discrimination, a safe workplace atmosphere, respect, compliance with regulations and U.S. job creation. Using a numerical system, each potential business was graded in response to the public’s feedback.
The inaugural list will appear in Forbes magazine’s Dec. 20 issue. Fluor is the largest construction and engineering company in the Fortune 500.
