Ellen Wood, the president and CEO of vcfo, was confirmed as the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce's 2017 Chair of the Board, while Lower Colorado River Authority General Manager Phil Wilson was named chair-elect.
“We are thrilled to have Ellen and Phil take on these key leadership roles,” Austin Chamber of Commerce 2016 Chairman and University Federal Credit Union President and CEO Tony Budet said. “Both possess solid records of success and an enormity of talent. Together they’ll help our business community have an even stronger voice in critical matters that impact Austin’s business climate and broader interests.”
Wood is a Texas CPA and co-founder of vcfo, a financial consulting firm in Austin. She has served two terms as a board member and was previously the vice chair of finance. She has served as the chair-elect for the past year.
"The opportunity to serve on behalf of our members allows me to further help a community that has been central to my life, family, and profession,” Wood said. "It is my commitment to do whatever we can to advance the mission of being welcomed to the table in major discussions as a collaborative and critical partner in the decision-making process for Austin and Central Texas.”
